May 22nd, I return the last piece of information required by Transport Canada (TC) and I finally received my class 3 medica certificate on the week of July 1 (happy Canada day J).
I am now able to legally fly an airplane on my own without the risk of a heart attack or other diseases, so they say.
I then ran to school to have my student permit and radio certificate ordered. With the medical certificate, those are the 3 elements required to fly on my own.
My instructor had to rearrange my flight lessons so I could still progress even if my solo was out of the question. Since this is no longer an issue, I will be doing touch-and-go on my next flight this weekend to be ready for the famous solo flight dear to all want-to-be pilots.
It’s not as if it was my first landing but I still need to practice to nail it 100%. I want to keep an even ratio of take-offs and landings. So, if you were near CYQB on July 10th, 2021, from 10 am to noon and you saw a Diamond DA-20 C1 with C-GIIL as a tail number, this was me. I hope I did not scare you too much.
I already have 22 hours of flight training in the DA-20 and it’s an amazing plane. TC requires a minimum of 45 hours to be eligible for the practical exam. The Canadian statistics show that an average of about 60 hours is needed to be signed off to the exam by an instructor.
On the last note, I finished ground school on June 2nd. All that is needed now is that I get to it and study for my PPAER exam. This will also help me on the theorical part of the practical exam… did I say this right…
